COMMISSIONED PORTRAITS
IF INTERESTED IN A COMMISSIONED PORTRAIT, PLEASE CONTACT ME THROUGH THE FORM AT THE CONTACT PAGE
Painting portraits is something I love to do. I started drawing at a very young age and ever since, painting has been at the core of my existence. It’s always thrilling to experience the moment a painting takes on a life of its own.
I have been blessed with the gift to create works of art that exhibit both beauty and life-likeness. Many customers are teary-eyed when they view the final product. It’s also exciting to consider the possibility that one day my painting may become a cherished heirloom, providing deep meaning for generations to come.
PROCESS
The first step is to establish a dialogue to determine the scope of painting you desire. Mr. Hinton initially meets with clients in their home for this initial discussion.
Although each commission is different, the price of the portrait will is generally based on the following criteria: the number of people in the painting; how much of each person is to be depicted; the size of the painting; the intricacy of clothing, jewelry, and props, and the background setting. Mr. Hinton will do his best to accommodate your vision and your budget.
Once the size and other details are agreed on, a contract is signed and a 50% deposit is required for starting the work. Please note that travel expenses, framing costs, shipping fees and any applicable taxes are additional and are not included in the base portrait price.
The next step is to schedule a photo shoot. During this time, numerous photos are taken in different settings and light situations. Shortly after, Mr. Hinton will meet with the client to discuss selection of a photo for the actual portrait.
Now the painting begins. Mr. Hinton returns to the studio and creates the portrait in the agreed-upon time period. During the process, the client may be called upon to view the painting at different stages of completion. When the finished painting is delivered to the client, the balance is due upon final approval and acceptance.
